Interviews for National Course Applicants:
National Course Interviews will occur Saturday, 4 February 2012 at 4900 Yonge Street, Toronto. 778 is scheduled between 14:00 hrs and 16:00 hrs, all candidates must arrive no later than 13:30 hrs. Please meet CV Donnelly in the lobby of the building. The dress will be C1.

Applicants should review the 2012 National Course Handbook section on interviews to prepare.

LHQ Training:
All training scheduled for January 26, 2012 but cancelled due to inclement weather will be conducted on February 2, 2012.
OPC Lottery Tickets:
Thursday, February, 2, 2012 will be the final day for returning OPC lottery ticket stubs. After Thursday, cadets will be responsible for returning tickets to the OPC office.
Summer Training:
IMPORTANT: Read ALL of the information below to ensure you are intending to apply for the correct type of course given your training level.
Please read the 778 Banshee Squadron Summer Training Guide, outlining the various non-national courses available to cadets, described first-hand by the cadets themselves. Thank you to all the contributors and to FCpl Yu for editing this issue.
All cadets interested in Summer Training Courses should read the following information:
Non-National Courses
Applications for non-national courses will be collected on 02 Feb 2012 and 09 Feb 2012. Cadets must complete the application form given above.
First year cadets (Level 1 Training) are only eligible for the General Training Course (GTC). Possible course intake dates are:
- Intake A: July 9-20, 2012
- Intake B: July 23 - Aug 03, 2012
- Intake C: Aug 5-17, 2012
Three week Introductory and Introductory Specialty courses are given in the information packages. Possible course intake dates are:
- July 9-27, 2012
- July 30-Aug 17, 2012
Preferences for availability can be specified on the application; however, a specific intake cannot be guaranteed.
Staff Cadets
Staff Cadet applications are now completed through Fortress. Cadets seeking employment should fill out the application form given above and submit on 02 Feb 2012 or 09 Feb 2012.
National Courses
NOTE: This information applies to National Courses ONLY. National Courses are courses 6+ weeks in duration and are intended for Senior Cadets (i.e., Level 3 or higher).
National Course Applications are complete. We will be speaking with the candidates as information becomes available. The 2012 National Course Handbook is available for reference. Additional information will be posted as it is available.

Policy Update:
In an effort to minimize water and dirt tracked into the school from outside during winter weather, ALL CADETS will wear outdoor shoes and change into their parade boots immediately upon entering the school. Cadets will also bring a plastic bag to place their shoes neatly along the right hand side (east side) of the hallway between the main door and the parade square as you walk towards the parade square. No wet shoes will be permitted on the parade square.
Recruiting:
778 Banshee Squadron's recruiting for the 2011-2012 Training Year has been completed as of October 13, 2011. Anyone still wishing to join a squadron for this year is encouraged to seek out one of our neighbouring squadrons. This information can be found on the website of the Ontario Provincial Committee of the Air Cadet League, www.aircadetleague.on.ca.
