Below are the various trophies and medals, and the eligibility criteria to win them. Our awards are announced each year at our Annual Ceremonial Review in June. Most Valuable Bandsman

The award is presented to the 778 Banshee Squadron cadet that has shown the most commitment and dedication towards the success of the squadron band

Best Dressed Cadet

The award is presented to the 778 Banshee Squadron cadet who consistently excels within the squadron uniform standards.

Top Athletic Award

The award is presented to the 778 Banshee Squadron cadet who has demonstrated exceptional ability and leadership in the sphere of athletics.

Captain G.G. Ridgley CD Award for Proficiency in Drill

The award is presented to the 778 Banshee Squadron cadet that has set the example in personal drill, dress, deportment and professionalism.

Branch 375 Royal Canadian Legion Level 1 Award of Excellence in Mandatory Training

The award is presented to the 778 Banshee Squadron cadet who has set the highest standard and is an example for their peers in Proficiency Level 1. It is awarded to the cadet who, throughout the year, has taken the most active role in the squadron and its activities.

Level 2 Award of Excellence in Mandatory Training

The award is presented to the 778 Banshee Squadron cadet who has set the highest standard and is an example for their peers in Proficiency Level 2. It is awarded to the cadet who, throughout the year, has taken the most active role in the squadron and its activities.

Level 3 Award of Excellence in Mandatory Training

The award is presented to the 778 Banshee Squadron cadet who has set the highest standard and is an example for their peers in Proficiency Level 3. It is awarded to the cadet who, throughout the year, has taken the most active role in the squadron and its activities.

William Renwick Level 4 Memorial Award of Excellence in Mandatory Training

The award is presented to the 778 Banshee Squadron cadet who has set the highest standard and is an example for their peers in Proficiency Level 4. It is awarded to the cadet who, throughout the year, has taken the most active role in the squadron and its activities.

Tom McKeague Level 5 Memorial Award of Excellence in Mandatory Training

The award is presented to the 778 Banshee Squadron cadet who has set the highest standard and is an example for their peers in Proficiency Level 5. It is awarded to the cadet who, throughout the year, has taken the most active role in the squadron and its activities.

Top Instructor of the Year

This trophy is awarded annually to the 778 Banshee Squadron cadet who has demonstrated the most dedication to the advancement of others through positive teaching methods and effective organizational skills.

Captain S.K. Khan Memorial Award of Excellence

Presented to the member of 778 Banshee Royal Air Cadet Squadron who demonstrates dedication, honesty, determination, persistence, outstanding quality of performance and a strong desire to achieve perfection as exemplified the officer for whom this plaque is dedicated.

Major R.G. McMeekin, CD Commanding Officers Trophy

This award is presented to the 778 Banshee Squadron cadet who has set the highest standard and is a role model for their peers. It is awarded to the cadet who has taken the most active role in the squadron and its activities.

Legion Medal of Excellence

The recipient must be seen by peers and superiors to exemplify the model cadet and enhance his/her squadron status by: co-operation with peers and superiors; comradeship; promotion of goodwill and morale within the corps; supporting and assisting corps members; and enhancing the image of Cadets in the local community.

Lord Strathcona Award

This is one of the highest award which can be bestowed upon a Canadian cadet in recognition of their exemplary performance in physical and cadet training. The recipient is regarded by peers and supervisors as exemplifying the model cadet.

Top Flight Award

The award is presented to the 778 Banshee Squadron flight that excels in drill, uniform care, attendance, extra-curricular activities, and esprit de corps.
